epa08215525 Staff from the Sumatran Orangutan Conservation Program Re-introduction and Quarantine Station, shows the nest of the orangutan in Jantho, Aceh Besar, Indonesia, 13 February 2020. Orangutans are brought to the station after losing their habitat, mostly due to widespread illegal logging and the destruction of the forest for palm oil plantations. Indonesia is the world's largest producer of palm oil, made from the pulp of the palm fruit, followed closely by Malaysia. Palm plantations have been built on land taken from destroyed tropical rainforest, causing the death and displacements of many species, among them the critically endangered orangutan EPA/HOTLI SIMANJUTAK
